The plant recognition model that runs on your phone was trained on 247,255 photos shared by iNaturalist, GBIF and Wikimedia Commons contributors. Thank you to every one of them.
Each photo is used under the licence its photographer chose: CC BY 4.0 (credit required) or CC0 (public domain). The photos were resized for training; the model contains no photos.
Download all photo credits (CSV, 33 MB) — one row per photo: the photo id, the plant, its licence, the photographer's credit line, and a link to the original observation on iNaturalist or GBIF, or the file page on Wikimedia Commons.
Photos come from the iNaturalist Licensed Observation Images open dataset, plus vegetable photos from other GBIF sources and from Wikimedia Commons (CC0, public domain or CC BY only). About 5,600 of the Commons photos show no plant at all — hands, shoes, floors, food — and teach the model to say "this isn't a plant". If you are a photographer and want a photo removed from future versions of the model, write to support@inplexstudio.com with the photo id.
